The main question is:

How can a Linux desktop be adjusted so that more people can use it comfortably and effectively?

Big Idea: Accessibility Is Part of Basic System Usability

Accessibility is not an optional "extra" topic. It is part of making a system usable for real people with different needs.

At beginner level, think in categories:

  • pointing-device support
  • assistive technology

Visual Accessibility

Common examples:

  • high-contrast themes
  • large-print themes
  • screen magnifier

These help users who need larger or more visible interface elements.

Screen Reader and Braille Awareness

Common assistive ideas to recognize:

  • screen reader
  • Braille display

Simple meaning:

  • a screen reader speaks interface content
  • a Braille display gives tactile output

You do not need deep configuration here. You do need to know what these technologies are for.

On-Screen Keyboard and Voice Recognition
